Crystal Dunn


2016 US Olympic Team

The Spirit drafted Crystal Dunn with the 1st overall pick in the 2014 NWSL College Draft. She had a banner 2015 season scoring 15 goals for the Spirit and was awarded NWSL Golden Boot, NWSL MVP, Washington Spirit Golden Boot, and Washington Spirit MVP. She was also NWSL Player of the Week a record six times and NWSL Player of the Month for August. Dunn was named to NWSL Best XI and averaged 0.75 goals per team game, a new NWSL record.

Dunn is a US Women’s Allocated Player for the Spirit. She was a key member of the Under-20 team that won the Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan in 2012, where she had three assists. Dunn made her debut for the senior U.S. National Team in 2013.  She scored her first career international goal on September 17th 2015.


United States National Team: 2015: Played against England as a substitute on 13 as a late game substitute, but would not play again until the post-WWC Victory Tour, where she started six of the seven matches she played while scoring four goals with three assists … The 5-foot-1 Dunn scored her first career international goal on Sept. 17 against Haiti on a header …Member of the roster that competed and helped the USA win its 10th Algarve Cup after defeating France 2-0 on March 11

Named to the United States Under-23 Women’s National Team

Played at Yale University for four seasons … Made 56 appearances and started 54 games for the Bulldogs … Three-time first team All-Ivy selection (only one in school history) … 2014:Named first team All-Ivy and first team All-New England … Started 14 of Yale’s 15 games … Scored 2 goals and had 2 assists …2013: First team All-Ivy and first team All-New England selection … One of only two players to start all 16 of the Bulldogs’ games … Had 1 goal and 5 assists …  2012: Started 7 games for Yale, contributing 4 assists … Limited to only 8 games because of injury … 2011: First team All-Ivy selection … Started all 17 games … Had four goals and four assists.
